The EAPHM Board is actively seeking support to express the pork producing industry’s concern in controlling the spread of ASF virus in Europe. This concern will be brought under the attention of the EU commission in Brussel, Belgium. The latest jump the ASF virus made (see map) is (again-) indicating the human involvement, acting as vector, in spreading the ASF virus.   
The EAPHM received an invitation from Mr Bernard Van Goethem, Director in the European Commission, concerning the European Commission’s new project Production of educational materials on the production, the processing and the marketing of meat from uncastrated or immunocastrated pigs.

Sixteen veterinarians from Belgium and The Netherlands successfully completed, as the first ones in Europe, the VetCEE-approved European Postgraduate Program in Porcine Veterinary Medicine.
In the beginning of October 2019 the EAPHM Board convenes for their half-yearly meeting to  discuss ongoing EAPHM matters. They will also discuss with the ECPHM Board matters of common interest and a meeting is planned together with the LOC ESPHM 2020 for the ESPHM2020 in April/May 2020 in Bern.
